January 17, 2014: Tabet Engineering Ltd. has an immediate opportunity for a full time Intermediate Structural Engineer for the design of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, in concrete (cast in place and tilt-up), structural steel, wood and masonry.
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in BC, or qualified for registration
- Thorough working knowledge of the BC Building Code
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Position requires, but may not be limited to:
- Structural analysis and design of building structures, utilizing a thorough technical knowledge and practical experience acquired through university and comparable consulting work. The scope of design will encompass all aspects of the project from preliminary to detailed and final design, with minimal supervision
- Ability to utilise computer aided design and the thorough understanding of design aspects and requirements of a building (gravity loads, lateral/seismic loads, load paths, structural layouts and systems…etc)
- Detail oriented skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively work with the client and consultants team
- Ability to carry out field reviews and provide services during construction, such as review of shop drawings and coordination with the contractor.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
